6 Signs That Your Cat Likes You

6 Signs That Show Your Cat Likes You

Playing cats is not that simple.  Compared to dogs, who express their affection clearly, felines undoubtedly communicate what they feel in a less obvious way. However, this does not mean that our pet does not want to show us his affection and loyalty, just that he demonstrates in a different way, which is often difficult to recognize.

If you want to find out how much your cat likes you, take note of these signs that indicate that you are not indifferent to your cat and that reveal that he adores you.

Purring and kneading bread

Purring is the sound that cats use to express affection to their owners.  They tend to have a long range and be quite bass.

According to investigations, when cats purr, their heart rate decreases, which makes them more relaxed.

When cats purr, they also  show joy  and it’s a way of saying they feel happy and secure with their owner.

You’re sure to feel these sounds when the cat lays down on your lap or when you pet it. For them,  this time is to relax and enjoy.

Purring is often accompanied by another way of expressing affection called “kneading bread,” which is when  cats sit on their legs and begin massaging their paws.

When cats make this move, you’ll also notice that in addition to purring and squinting their eyes a little, they often expose their sharp nails.

But this is not a show of aggression, but a way to  express all the affection your pet feels for you. In fact, the movement of the paws is so subtle that you don’t even notice the animal’s nails.

There has been a lot of discussion about the origin of the “kneading bread” of cats, as this movement begins from their first days of life.

When suckled by their mother, the puppies move their paws instinctively, pressing the mother’s breasts to get as much milk as possible. Over time, they  repeat this pleasant memory every time they feel happy.

touch the head and lick

Cats show of affection

If a person banged their head against you to show you affection, you would surely be surprised or defensive.

However, in felinestouching the head against you is a sign of affection, as doing so releases your facial pheromones, demonstrating confidence and security.

They are sure to combine head touches with licks or little nibbles. If that’s the case, be happy that your cat is expressing that you are already part of their circle of friends.

tail up

A cat’s tail says a lot.  When you get goosebumps, it means your cat is scared, but when the tip of the tail is curled, it means your cat is happy.

In general, we can notice the tail in this position when cats are close to their owners.

Belly up

Have you ever noticed that cats roll on the floor? If your cat makes this kind of movement, it’s because he wants to get your attention.

Cats only expose their belly to those people they trust, so if you are one of those people, enjoy the moment, as your pet feels loved and protected.

Nap time

As is well known,  cats sleep most of the day and usually look for warm places to sleep. So it’s not unusual if the feline jumps onto your lap during a nap or at night.

You should feel honored that when cats sleep, they are more vulnerable, and he has chosen you as his protection.

a very special gift

Perhaps, on more than one occasion, you have observed the behavior of a cat  when it sees a bird, a rodent, or an insect. Its pupils dilate, it may make some sounds and it is in an attack position.

The hunting instinct makes the feline want to hunt its prey and play with it until it is killed. But it doesn’t end there, as he will soon take it to its owner to share his trophy.

So don’t be alarmed if, the next time you want to watch a movie on your favorite sofa, you find a dead bird or insect, as it was your cat wanting to show you generosity and friendship.
