Too much light

Iguanas need a lot of natural light to develop, as well as UVB light. Ultraviolet radiation (UVB) will provide the animal with vitamin D, something it needs to receive continuously to continue to live well. Without vitamin D, the iguana is unable to absorb calcium and can have serious health problems.

Mercury fluorescent lights are ideal for setting up a suitable habitat for the iguana to live.

Heat

Like all tropical animals, iguanas need warmth as they are cold-blooded animals. If you don’t live in a tropical country, you will need to install an extra heat source in the environment where the iguana will live. She will need warmer weather than she is likely to have in the rest of her house.

The ideal temperature should range from 24 to 27°C (or 75 to 80°F). The maximum temperature should be 35 to 38°C (or 95 to 100°F).

Use a thermostat to ensure the room temperature is always right.

The environment in which you will place the  iguana should have enough space for it to move and rest. This will be of great importance for her to feel good in this environment. A heater, pleasant light and a comfortable resting place are essential for good iguana breeding.
