Hundreds Of Bulldogs Parade In Search Of The Record

Hundreds of bulldogs parade in search of the record

Mexico City has many tourist attractions, as well as a multitude of activities to enjoy during your stay. The streets can be used to protest or demonstrate, and, in addition, to carry out various marches. In that case,  we’ll tell you about the record they tried to get with a large group of bulldogs.

Bulldogs who want to break the record

Something may have caught the attention of several people (residents or visitors) as they walked through downtown Mexico City: a march of pudgy puppies barking and sniffing everything. A square full of barks and collars. The goal was nothing less than to get a record that would put them in the famous record book, the Guinness.

In total,  950 people took their flat-faced, stout-bodied pets  for this march, with the aim of making history. Erick Hernández, president of Club Bulldog de Mexico, said that, worldwide, they are the first group to summon almost a thousand dogs of this breed to an action in such a popular and visited place in a city.

The goal was to get 800 bulldogs together to break the previous record. All that remains is to send the evidence to the judges of the Guinness organization so that they can be evaluated and later certified.

During the walk, which took place on the touristic Reform Tour of the Mexican capital,  the male bulldogs of this wonderful breed were wearing sunglasses and soccer team jackets.  On the other hand, females showed their most flirtatious side, with ballerina or princess dresses. Owners wore orange shirts with a picture of a bulldog and a number to identify their pet.

One of the participants, Gabriela Pérez (who, of course, participated with her bulldog), said society has a wrong image of bulldogs, which they consider aggressive. However, they are quite the opposite: a wonderful source of love and affection.

The canine march was also accompanied by 2,000 people  attracted by the spectacle and to feed the puppies, who ended up a little tired from exercising so much.

Other Guinness Dog Records

In addition to the march of almost a thousand bulldogs in Mexico to achieve a historic milestone, we must talk about dogs that managed the difficult task of being a record in the Guinness book. These are the most curious and fun:

the oldest dog

His name was Bluey and he was of the Australian Shepherd breed. He was born in 1910 and died in November 1939.  That’s right… he was 29 and a half! Your longevity record has yet to be beaten.

the smallest dog

He is called Boo Boo and is a longhaired Chihuahua breed. His world record is nothing short of being the smallest dog in the world. It only measures 10.16 centimeters. This little animal is also a source of love, without a doubt.

the tallest dog

He could be mistaken for a horse, but he was a dog. His name was Giant George and he was of the Great Dane breed  (among the largest in the world). It measured 110 centimeters and weighed 113 kilos. Despite its size, it was very docile, peaceful and sleepy. He enjoyed playing in the park and sleeping with his owners at his home in Tucson, Arizona, USA.

the dog with the biggest ears

As it could not be otherwise, this beautiful little animal belongs to the Cão de São Humberto breed. His name is Tigger and he has the biggest ears a dog has ever had. When stretching them, the right measures 34.9 centimeters and the left 34.2 centimeters.

the most expensive dog

He is red in color and his breed is mastiff. It belongs to a Chinese businessman who paid no less than 1.5 million dollars  for the dog, named Do-Khyi. But why does it cost so much? As one of the oldest races in the world, it can be related to Genghis Khan and Buddha.
