Kato The Hollywood Dog
The number of dogs and other abandoned animals increases every day, but fortunately many of them find a happy ending. This is the case of Kato, an extremely charismatic dog who won the hearts of the right people at the right time and, thanks to this, life has smiled on him.
Today we are going to learn a little about the history of this puppy, which teaches us that we should not judge others by their appearance, but by what they are inside. And it was thanks to that that Kato had a happy ending worthy of a movie!

We don’t know how Kato came to live on the streets. Maybe it got lost or abandoned by the owner.
Luckily, Scott Schweitzer and David Sousa were nearby shooting a movie when Kato showed up without permission, but already showing a certain talent for the cameras. The animal star did not go unnoticed by the artists, who tried to resolve the necessary procedures to take the furry to Hollywood.
After a good shower, a haircut, a thorough veterinarian check-up, and a little rest, Kato looked great. He was an adorable, artist-faced dog.
Training to become the Hollywood Dog
As much as Kato was extremely friendly, it could not be denied that he was a stray dog and it was not known how long he had lived on the streets of the Mexican capital. Therefore, for a good coexistence and for him to be able to obey orders, correctly performing his role as an actor, exhaustive training was necessary.
The training was based on the technique of positive reinforcement, whose effectiveness is already more than proven. Kato was already ready for stardom. And its new owners had already chosen their first role: Big Jim’s companion in Under the Dome .
The science fiction series, based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, tells the story of the residents of a small American town who are cut off from the outside world when a huge, transparent dome falls from the sky and everyone’s lives begin to change.
Kato is the loyal and faithful companion of one of the protagonists of the production and embarks on a series of adventures with him.
Kato is like all the other actors in the series : he knows when to stand still or lie down, when to walk or run, when to look at the actors or the other way, he knows when it’s time to bark or be silent… Will he win the next Oscar? Who knows…

Although not all the dogs we know from the movies have been abandoned and rescued like Kato, they also have merit for good acting. Among the most famous four-legged stars we have:
